ABOUT OUR WORKSHOPS
HANDS ON PERMACULTURE DAYS
@ PANDURUNGA FARM
The HANDS ON PERMACULTURE DAY'S are designed to enhance your knowledge and understanding of permaculture systems further than the workshop style education. We select activities that are relevant to the season and encourage 'hands on' participation for participants who benefit from doing rather than reading etc. The day also provides participants with a real immersion of living in a permaculture designed system. We encourage participants to bring along a plate of yummy food for a shared lunch. The days start around 9.00am and finish up around 3.00pm
Keep tabs on our Facebook page for details relative to the next HANDS ON DAY

This 2 day workshop, @ Pandurunga Farm, has been designed to share information about the importance of mulching and compost for any type of plant growing in the tropics. We will look at how to make mulching sustainable, an introduction to living mulches, what types to use and how to apply it. This information is very much linked in with composting and explores composting further than our Basic Composting workshop, so we will also explore, compost teas, how to apply composts and general soil building techniques. This information is relevant to all who grow, big and small. The two days work best served together.
Generally 9.00am to 4.00pm both days.
$200.00 includes meals and camping, or $100.00 per day. (mulching - day 1, composting - day 2)

72 HOUR PERMACULTURE DESIGN CERTIFICATE COURSE.
The Permaculture Design Certificate Course (PDC), is the primary and most comprehensive introduction to the
world of Permaculture developed by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren in the early 1970's. The 72 hour PDC covers
the Permaculture ethics, principles, methods of design, pattern understanding and energy cycles.
We also cover design for different climatic factors, earth works, aquaculture, soils, trees and water
and conclude the course with future strategies for our changing world.
This course has provided many participants worldwide, with the knowledge necessary for involvement in developing their own properties including urban and suburban properties as well as small and large farms, schools and has paved a path to foreign aid work overseas and community development.
Permaculture uses a set of principles which will provide both productive and sustainable systems which support architecture, food production, land management, community development as well as day to day living experiences.
This is a live in, 2 week Permaculture experience to be held in the majority, at a developing property in Finch Hatton, 45 minutes Nth. West of Mackay. This 2 week course is our preferred teaching method as participants are fully immersed in the Permaculture experience. The fee for this course is $1,200.00 for Mackay Community Garden members and $1400 for non members, which includes all meals and tent or dorm style accommodation. We also have a discounted course fee of $1,000.00 if you wish to help out with some chores during the two week experience. A $500.00 deposit is required for this course to be paid at least 6 weeks prior to the course starting date. Other accommodation is available a short drive from the site and can be arranged upon request. The course will be posted on the workshops page. Please note that our live in course is a 14 day experience.
Please contact us to register your interest in the PDC. We require at least 6 participants to run the PDC and can confirm dates when we have the numbers. Thanks.
